Martha Leeder, President
Martha Leeder serves as Board Chair of Open Arms Santa Fe. She is Founder & Principal of Ladybird, a boutique real estate investment and capital advisory firm. Previously, she served as Managing Director of Investor Relations at DXD Capital and Vice President of Investor Relations at Titan Development, raising capital for real estate private equity funds. Her background also includes nonprofit major gifts work at Albuquerque Academy, where she led planned giving and major gift solicitations. Martha's additional board service includes OneABQ Fund, NM Angels, and the Christ Lutheran Church Council.

Susan Boe, Board Member
Susan Boe serves on the Board of Open Arms Santa Fe. A retired attorney and former journalist, she was a partner at Faegre & Drinker and later served as general counsel for Iowa Realty. After moving to Santa Fe, Susan served as Executive Director of the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government and Searchlight New Mexico. Her nonprofit involvement includes the New Mexico Cancer Foundation, New Mexico Youth Shelters, and the Center for Contemporary Arts. Susan earned her law degree with highest distinction from the University of Iowa and has taught at Drake University and the University of New Mexico.
Zoila Cleaver, Board Member
Zoila Cleaver serves on the Board of Open Arms Santa Fe. She was a founding member of Púrpura A.C., a nonprofit community-building organization on the coast of Oaxaca, Mexico, where she lived and worked for several years. In Santa Fe, Zoila worked with La Familia Medical Center, teaching nutrition workshops and helping connect low-income families with opportunities for physical activity and wellness. Her experience reflects a strong commitment to community engagement and improving access to resources. Zoila currently works at Shiprock Santa Fe.
Johanna Gilligan, Board Member
Johanna Gilligan is President at Homewise, a CDFI and developer in New Mexico, where she leads Housing & Community Development, Resource Development, and Energywise, a green lending program for LMI homeowners. Before joining Homewise, she lived in New Orleans, where she founded Grow Dat Youth Farm after Hurricane Katrina and earlier led a school food reform initiative profiled on HBO's "Weight of the Nation." She was awarded a Harvard Loeb Fellowship and a Tulane University Rockefeller Fellowship.
Tug Leeder, Board Member
Tug Leeder serves on the Board of Open Arms Santa Fe. A third-generation Santa Fean, he is Project Manager at RL Leeder, his family’s asphalt, paving, and earthwork business serving Santa Fe since 1982. Tug also serves on the Christ Lutheran Church Council, bringing a strong community connection to his work with Open Arms. He led the municipal approval process for the organization’s community room and oversaw its construction, finish-out, and surrounding landscaping. RL Leeder also donated the asphalt work for the project, reflecting the family business’s longstanding commitment to the Santa Fe community.
Joan Murphy, Board Member
Joan Murphy serves on the Board of Open Arms Santa Fe. She previously served for 13 years as Executive Assistant to U.S. Senator Pete Domenici in his Santa Fe office and held several roles with the New Mexico Department of Health, including positions in behavioral health, injury prevention, and emergency management. Joan also chaired the New Mexico Suicide Prevention Coalition. She currently volunteers with Christ Lutheran Church’s food pantry and serves as a Certified Peer Support Worker at the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center, where she facilitates support groups for incarcerated women.Staff Member
Raquel Baca-Tompson, Executive Director
Raquel Tompson serves as Executive Director of Open Arms Santa Fe. She brings more than twenty years of nonprofit leadership and management experience, including nine years in human resources. Raquel holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree and previously worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Behavioral Health Unit at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Hospital. Her community involvement includes Big Brothers Big Sisters, St. Elizabeth Shelter, and the Santa Fe Housing Collaborative for All. In her free time, Raquel enjoys weightlifting, indoor cycling, and walking her dog.
