We are Open Arms.
Where safety and dignity meet, homelessness ends.
Our Story
Open Arms is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to full financial transparency. Our funding comes from a four-year City of Santa Fe Homeless Services contract alongside generous support from private foundations and individual donors. Community donations support the programming, staffing, and infrastructure that fall outside our contract scope: art supplies, garden tools, resident stipends, campus maintenance, and retaining the dedicated staff whose daily presence makes everything possible.
Every dollar donated to Open Arms stays in Santa Fe. Our vision is to scale this model across New Mexico.
Your support helps us prove it works.
Our Mission + Vision
Open Arms Santa Fe provides low-barrier transitional shelter, campus stewardship, and community outreach through the Arroyo Chamiso Micro Community. We create a safe, welcoming environment where our neighbors are treated with dignity and respect as they work toward permanent housing by enhancing the campus, coordinating volunteers and donations, ideating and supplementing community programs, and providing outreach initiatives such as our community food pantry.
In partnership with The Life Link, which provides resident services and case management, Christ Lutheran Church, the City of Santa Fe, local organizations, volunteers, and donors, Open Arms Santa Fe strengthens the resident community by stewarding the campus, fostering meaningful partnerships, and creating opportunities for connection, engagement, and community. Together, we support a collaborative model that benefits both residents and the broader Santa Fe community.
Our vision is to expand this collaborative model into a network of micro communities that provide temporary transitional shelter, foster community, and create pathways toward housing stability throughout Santa Fe.

Join Our Board
Open Arms is growing and we're looking for passionate, connected Santa Feans to help us get there.
We are actively recruiting board members with backgrounds in fundraising and development, legal, finance, marketing and communications, healthcare and social services, and community leadership. If you believe that dignity and community are the foundation of lasting change, we'd love to talk.
Serving on the Open Arms board is a meaningful but manageable commitment: quarterly meetings, a $1,000 annual gift, and participation in one advisory committee on an as-needed basis. What you bring to the table matters far more than how many hours you can give.
If you would like information on serving on our board of directors,
please contact Martha Leeder at Martha@ladybird.holdings
